Excellent, practical tips that are very prescient. One more reason to avoid direct applications is the dreaded ATS filter... lord knows how those systems are still in use at serious companies!
I'd add another "don't"... which is don't throw spaghetti on the wall. It makes sense to widen the top of funnel, but there is such a thing as lowering your quality bar to a degree where you introduce more noise vs. signal into your search.
